Unique pieces of art to be held, used & celebrated

Our Philosophy & Inspiration

At Shibusa Ceramics, we create handcrafted pieces that embody simplicity, balance, and natural elegance.
Inspired by the Japanese philosophy of shibusa — beauty in subtlety — each object is shaped by hand, refined with care, and completed with precision and intention.

Our collections are defined by clean lines, organic textures, and neutral tones — elements that bring calm and harmony to any space. Each piece bears the subtle marks of the handmade process, making it truly one of a kind.

Drawing from the clarity of Eastern aesthetics and the expressive dynamism of Greek heritage,we explore the meeting point of calm and tension.

Minimal forms, natural clays and glazes of quiet nuance reveal a dialogue between precision and spontaneity — a meditation on balance, rhythm, and the essence of material.

Each vessel carries the language of both — restrained yet vivid, quiet yet alive.
Through this synthesis, the work reflects on presence, light, and the timeless rhythm of creation.

ABOUT THE CREATOR

Anastasia Kitsikopoulou

"It’s often the smallest details that bring the most comfort — the weight of a favorite mug, the texture of a hand-formed bowl, the quiet ritual of morning tea.

Each piece I create is a reflection of that belief: that beauty and meaning live in the everyday."

Hello, I’m Anastasia Kitsikopoulou – the artist behind Shibusa Ceramics. I live and work in Lamia, Greece. My journey with ceramics began about 14 years ago in Munich, Germany, when I first sat at the wheel. The medium, the possibilities, and the plasticity of the material instantly drew me into a continuous path of discovery.
Today, I keep exploring new textures and developing my own glazes, merging tradition, craftsmanship, and personal research. Currently, my focus lies in incorporating natural glazes into my work — materials collected from the region where I grew up: fir-covered mountains, volcanic shores, and thermal spring lakes. My intention is to transform these elements into enduring memories — portable containers of place and story.
Every piece I create holds fragments of my own history.
Grateful to continue this creative journey — and to have you with me.
